Danafloat™ 468 mineral collector

Danafloat 468 is an aqueous solution of dialkyl dithiophosphates.

Danafloat 468 is practically a non-frothing collector. It is a fast collector and it requires only short conditioning time and is therefore useful for staged addition.

Danafloat 468 has found its greatest application in the flotation of gold, silver and copper ores, where selectivity towards sphalerite is particularly desired. It is rated an excellent collector in the flotation of metallics such as gold, silver and copper. Danafloat 468 is also rated an effective collector for chalcocite, bornite and covellite. If gold is liberated from sulphides and gangue,

Danafloat 468 is the most effective collector for fine gold. If gold occurs in association with pyrite and other sulphides, a supplementary collector, e.g. xanthate should be used.

Danafloat 468 can be added undiluted or preferably diluted with clear water to 5-20% solutions. It is good practice to stir before use.

The dosage of Danafloat 468 varies with the type of ore, usually falling in the range of 5 to 50 grams per metric ton ore.

Danafloat 468 is effective in the pH range of 4 to 12.

Safety and handling

Danafloat flotation collectors are manufactured under carefully controlled conditions. However, to varying degrees they can be considered harmful and therefore before handling this product always carefully read and understand the MSDS for this product.

Storage

+ Store in a dry and well-ventilated place away from heat and sunlight after the principle “first in/first out”
+ Avoid freezing
+ Store in plastic drums or coated steel drums

Environmental impact

Danafloat 468 is biodegradable. The majority of the collector is tied up with the concentrate and is destroyed in the subsequent processing operations. The remainder is transferred to the tailings, Release into the water systems should be avoided.
